I’m having a very hard time getting my head around the fact a new year is dawning. I’m still trying to come to terms with 2017. It was so full of wonderful and terrible things, my head hasn’t yet stopped spinning.
Creatively, the last year was exciting because I took a big step in a new direction artistically. Going forward in 2018, I anticipate exploring more challenging abstract figurative in my attempt to create my own style; one that blends mystery and emotion. I’m also looking forward to show group shows in 2018: one in Santa Monica the other in London. More to come on that.
One of the greatest rewards of painting is it helps keep me sane during these terrible and terrifying political times. I would love to find a way to channel my rage and outrage into art, but have yet to find a way to do that on any regular basis. I have created several “political” pieces, both of which sold. Although I like the “sold” part, I rely on inspiration and until I can find a way into politics that feels organic, I’m not sure I want to go there.
Thank you for your support. Hoping to see you in 2018!
